Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed that after winning the presidency, he would increase the salaries of public school teachers, adding that he would also provide free training and scholarships to their children.

Early this month, Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) chair Vladimer Quetua said, “Clearly, the low level of teachers’ salaries has been bogging the education system down. There is an urgent need to uplift the economic conditions of our teachers in order to capacitate them towards our goal of education recovery and improving the quality of education.”

Antonia Maamo-Lim, president of ACT Region VII Union, stressed the need for Marcos to be more engaged with his subjects, stressing his presence as a leader was not felt immensely by Filipinos in his first 100 days.
